Project overview
Enhanced marketability and financing of digital health innovations in CE through strengthened cooperation and improved policies
The health sector is digitalising fast. Innovative solutions are being developed but their market entry or broader application often fails due to structural shortcomings. The DIGIVITALITY project helped health care innovations to enter the health care market faster and to scale up more easily. The partnership developed a blueprint for smoother collaboration among start-ups, med-techs, hospitals and innovation hubs, which is challenge-driven and based on open innovation.

Roadmap
Building the foundation for digital health collaboration
The project first focused on building a shared understanding among innovation hubs, healthcare providers, med-tech companies and start-ups. It provided guidance, training and tools to support effective collaboration across the digital health ecosystem.
Scouting digital health solutions
Based on healthcare needs identified across partner regions, an open call was launched to identify start-ups with digital health solutions ready for real-life validation. The focus was on solutions with strong potential for practical implementation and market uptake.
Validating digital health solutions in real healthcare settings
Selected start-ups underwent a multi-dimensional feasibility validation process involving hospitals, med-tech companies and innovation hubs. The process assessed the medical, business and implementation potential of the solutions in real-life conditions.
Turning project experience into practical knowledge
The knowledge gained during the project was transformed into practical tools and guidance for innovation hubs, healthcare providers and start-ups. The Digital Health Innovation Playbook and the Healthcare Knowledge Portal support future collaboration and validation in digital health.
Supporting the uptake of digital health solutions through policy and financing
The final phase focused on improving the conditions for the uptake of digital health solutions. The project developed policy recommendations and country-level action plans to support public financing and wider adoption.
