Second call for project proposals
We have selected 47 new projects for funding. They will soon start and help to make central Europe smarter, greener, better connected and more integrated.
47 new projects will kick off in spring 2024
On 31 January 2024, our programme monitoring committee agreed to co-finance 47 new transnational cooperation projects with a budget of 76 million EUR from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The total number of transnational projects funded by our programme will therefore increase to 100 after the first two calls for proposals.
The second call for project proposals was open from 22 March to 17 May 2023. Since then, the programme has thoroughly checked and assessed 280 submitted proposals. This process finally resulted in the funding decision by the monitoring committee, which further increased the initial call budget of 60 million EUR ERDF by 16 million EUR to co-finance all excellent proposals.
The successful proposals are presented in the video and listed further below. More information about their planned activities and results will become available on the project gateway as of April 2024.

Selection process: Steps taken since the call closed
Are you interested in the detailed steps of our second call selection process? Find below an overview as well as reference to key call documents.
After closing the call in May 2023, we checked the submitted proposals against formal and administrative requirements.
In this step, we assessed all remaining proposals against two strategic criteria: relevance and partnership.
After the relevance filter, we fully assessed all remaining applications. In this decisive phase of the selection process, we analysed the entire application form comprehensively.
Selection and contracting
The funding decision was taken by the monitoring committee based on the full assessment results. Projects will now be finetuned and contracted and are expected to start with their implementation in spring 2024.
