DIGIVITALITY project concludes: Boosting digital health innovation across Central Europe

Date: 30.04.2026
Across Central Europe, many promising digital solutions struggle to reach hospitals and patients. DIGIVITALITY addressed this challenge by connecting innovation hubs, hospitals, med-tech companies and start-ups, and by creating a practical pathway for testing and validating new technologies based on real healthcare needs.

One of the project’s key achievements was the development of a structured validation process, allowing digital health solutions to be assessed from multiple perspectives, including clinical relevance, technical feasibility, business potential and health-economic impact. Through this approach, selected innovations were piloted in hospitals across the region, helping companies refine their solutions and better prepare them for market entry.

This approach is captured in the Digital Health Innovation Playbook, an interactive and practical roadmap for scaling up digital health applications. The Playbook, together with other useful tools, is available on the Healthcare Knowledge Portal: https://digivitality.eu/. These resources provide practical guidance for stakeholders looking to collaborate, validate and implement digital health solutions. In addition, DIGIVITALITY contributed to policy discussions by developing recommendations and national action plans aimed at improving public financing and supporting the wider adoption of digital health innovations.

By the end of the project, DIGIVITALITY had not only supported individual innovations, but also strengthened cooperation between key actors in the healthcare ecosystem. The knowledge, partnerships and tools created will continue to support the uptake of digital health solutions, helping healthcare systems become more efficient, accessible and patient-centred.
