Enhancing Environmental Education and Sustainable Tourism for Natural Areas Resilience in Central Europe

Popular border landscapes face visitor overcrowding, disturbed wildlife and damage to sensitive habitats, but neighbouring protected areas and natural parks often follow different rules and communicate separately with visitors. ENTURE-CE adapts tools from earlier Interreg projects to help protected areas manage these pressures together. Park managers will develop shared guidance, improve visitor monitoring and involve schools, communities and tourists in citizen science and environmental education. A Youth Council will bring young people into decisions, while a trilateral governance structure and strategies will help biosphere reserves balance tourism with long-term nature protection.
