On 16–17 April 2026, HUMANITA took part in the event of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia “Synergies and Complementarities Bridging Europe” in Grado, Italy.
The event brough together Interreg programmes, European-funded initiatives, and representatives of institutions to explore synergies and complementarities around key shared challenges, including sustainable tourism and green and blue biodiversity, while also looking ahead to the future of Interreg cooperation beyond 2027.
Organised by the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme together with its three Operations of Strategic Importance — ADRIONCYCLETOUR, Kras-Carso II, and POSEIDONE — the event served both as the Programme’s Annual Event and as a joint platform for these flagship projects.
We were pleased to have taken an active role in this important exchange, as one of the three projects that were presented to showcase their work and explore concrete opportunities for synergies with other initiatives – HUMANITA, ReCo and ICTr-CE .
In addition, the programme contributed directly to the discussions on the future of Interreg, bringing perspectives on how cooperation can evolve beyond 2027 and highlighting the importance of youth as a driving force for more inclusive and forward-looking territorial cooperation. Through plenary and thematic sessions, networking opportunities, study visits, and parallel labs, the event provided a valuable platform to share results, reflect jointly on future priorities, and help shape more effective territorial cooperation.
This event underlined a shared conviction: synergies are essential for building concrete and lasting cooperation across Europe.
