SMART CIRCUIT was structured around three complementary Work Packages, each addressing a key dimension of the circular and digital transition.
WP1 – Building Circular Skills for the Future
WP1 focused on developing the knowledge and competencies required for circular innovation. A central achievement was the establishment of the Circular Innovation Academy, a transnational training platform supporting professionals, SMEs, and innovation actors.
Using a “learning by doing” approach, WP1 combined training, pilot activities, and stakeholder feedback. As a result:
- 56 learning hours were delivered
- 120 participants were trained
- 120 success stories were generated
- 24 inputs were collected from pilot users
WP2 – Shaping Circular Industry Strategies
WP2 addressed the policy and strategic dimension of the transition. It created structured platforms—such as Town Halls and Strategy Labs—to facilitate dialogue between policymakers, industry, and innovation actors.
Key achievements include:
- 60 Town Halls organised
- 24 Strategy Labs implemented
- 36 policy maker interviews conducted
- 1 joint transnational strategy developed
WP3 – Driving Circular Innovation in Industry
WP3 focused on real industrial implementation, supporting SMEs in adopting circular and digital solutions through pilot actions and “test-before-invest” approaches.
Key results include:
- 60 SME interviews conducted
- 24 pilots implemented
- 55 companies involved in pilot activities
- 4 flagship initiatives identified
