How can we help children understand climate change and sustainable living in a fun and engaging way? Our project partner ENVIROS recently explored this question during a visit to Jeneč Primary School in the Czech Republic.
During two lessons with pupils from the 3rd and 4th grades, the NiCE team introduced children to topics such as climate change, resource consumption and how everyday choices affect the environment. The pupils were very active, curious and eager to share their ideas, showing a strong interest in sustainability.
The second part of the programme focused on the Circle City board game, developed within the NiCE project. Through the game, children discovered how the decisions of citizens, schools, businesses and local authorities are connected and how these choices can influence both the environment and the quality of life in a city.
The best feedback came at the end of the session, when the school bell rang and the children wanted to continue playing even during their break. Their enthusiasm confirmed that learning about sustainability can be both educational and enjoyable.
