In cooperation with the local partner Silo Jihlava, ENVIROS organized a NiCE project meeting on 27-28 March in Jihlava, where a pilot project of introducing a digital tool into the operation of the local reuse centre is being implemented.
The first day of the meeting was open to external participants and included an interactive workshop on how cities can promote sustainable lifestyles and close material flows. Subsequently, interesting activities in the field of circular economy from the Czech Republic and other participating countries were presented and the participants had the opportunity to visit specific places of good practice in the region (reuse centre Shelter of Things, material bank CIRCU, community centre Silo in Jihlava).
We would like to thank the company Plastia for the inspiration on how to combine attractive design and recycling in the production of plastic products, Vír Factory for the demonstration of an exemplary revitalisation of a former industrial site in the spirit of sustainability, CIRCU for the presentation of their material bank and specific circular material applications, IBM for the insight into technologies for strengthening the digital organisation of material flows and Cyrkl for the presentation of a digital platform linking the supply and demand of secondary raw materials.
Special thanks go to our colleagues from Silo Jihlava for the excellent organization in the attractive premises of the Silver House. We had the opportunity to visit both the reuse centre Shelter of Things operated by them with a demonstration of testing of the digital tool and the involvement of artificial intelligence in the registration and offering of items, as well as the Silo community centre.
We are looking forward to further cooperation and to the autumn project meeting, where we will visit our colleagues in Brzeg Dolny, Poland, to further get inspired.
