We created an online tool for assessing public transport accessibility of routes and/or regions. Its aim is to foster transferability and support replicability of the SUSTANCE public transport (PT) accessibility methodology to the regions in Central Europe and beyond. The SUSTANCE methodology deals with not only current status assessment but also testing of efficiency of planned interventions in PT connectivity and ICT support. Thanks to this online tool, the users have an additional instrument for assessing and forecasting PT accessibility of specific rural, peripheral and cross-border regions or routes, based on the approved quantitative methodology. Our project partner – Institute of Traffic and Transport Ljubljana, developed it in the scope of SUSTANCE activities, mainly for public authorities responsible for PT planning, public transport operators and researchers of PT operations, but anyone with the interest in public transport can use it, free of charge.
This tool is used in several guided steps where existing data is analysed. We provide a predefined Excel template, which a user can download, insert data and import to begin analysis.
