How can a small rural railway station become a stronger link between people, places, and opportunities? This was the central question explored during the local stakeholder workshop held in Primorski Dolac as part of the RAISE-CE project.

Organised by Public Institution RERA S.D., in cooperation with the Municipality of Primorski Dolac, the event brought together representatives of local and regional authorities, project partners, and members of the local community to reflect on mobility needs and imagine new opportunities for the area.

The day began with a presentation of the RAISE-CE project and its objectives, followed by a visit to the railway station, where participants had the opportunity to observe the site first-hand and discuss its strengths and challenges. Through questionnaires and open discussions, stakeholders shared valuable insights into everyday mobility patterns, highlighting the importance of accessible, reliable, and sustainable transport options for residents.

The workshop also served as an opportunity to present and discuss the pilot solution planned for Primorski Dolac. Combining rail transport, shared mobility services, and digital tools, the pilot aims to make travelling to and from the station easier and more attractive, while encouraging more sustainable mobility choices.

The discussions confirmed that mobility is about much more than transportation. For rural areas such as Primorski Dolac, good connections mean easier access to education, employment, healthcare, and social opportunities. Strengthening these connections can therefore contribute directly to improving quality of life and supporting local development.
