A new short video has been launched on Youtube, capturing the key achievements of the Ready4Heat project and the concrete solutions developed by municipalities across Central Europe. The video highlights how local authorities are moving beyond strategies on paper to implement real measures that protect people from extreme heat—especially the most vulnerable.
From green cooling solutions and shaded public spaces to renewable-powered cooling systems, improved heat-risk communication, and stronger local heat protection networks, Ready4Heat pilot cities have tested and refined a wide range of practical actions. These experiences now form a growing evidence base for sustainable, long-term urban solutions against extreme heat.
The video also sets the scene for the upcoming webinar, “From Plans to Practice: Building Local Heat Resilience” (11 February 2026, 14:00–15:30 CET). During the event, municipalities and project partners from Ready4Heat and CoolCities will dive deeper into these experiences, sharing lessons learned on citizen engagement, cool spots and routes, and cross-sector collaboration between health, social and environmental services.

As climate change drives more frequent and intense heatwaves across Europe, practical local action has never been more urgent.
