Gdańsk Plants an “Electric Forest” – 250 Oaks for Recycling 250 Tonnes of E-Waste

Date: 15.11.2025

Reagan Park in Gdańsk has just grown a little greener – and a lot more symbolic.

Together with the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the Managing Director of Green Gdańsk, Piotr Kryszewski, and dozens of engaged residents, our partner City of Gdańsk planted 250 oak trees, creating what we proudly call an Electric Forest.

This unique initiative was more than a traditional tree-planting event. It was a powerful symbol of how responsible behavior can be transformed into real, positive change. In 2024, over 250 tonnes of electronic waste were collected in the city’s red ElektryczneŚmieci containers. For every tonne of e-waste, one tree was planted.

In this way, energy recovered from recycling was turned into new life. What once powered devices is now helping to power nature.

The Electric Forest stands as a living reminder that everyday choices matter. Properly disposing of electronic waste not only protects the environment from harmful substances, but can also contribute directly to rebuilding urban ecosystems and improving quality of life.

May this forest continue to grow, just like our shared commitment to nature and ecological awareness.
