A central part of the meeting focused on the Closing the Gap project itself, including its objectives, planned activities, and expected results. Partners discussed the coordination of key activities, particularly the development of the governance model and pilot testing. They also agreed on important handover points, timelines, responsibilities, and the planning of the first activities, including exchange and learning, case studies, fact-finding site visits, and pilot preparation.
The second day focused on practical cooperation and administrative matters. Partners discussed cooperation tools and principles, project communication, and the needs of different target groups. The programme also covered project administration, including the partnership agreement, JEMS access, and partner reporting. The meeting concluded with a discussion of the Project Steering Committee, its purpose, representatives, and decision-making procedures.
The kick-off meeting therefore marked an important first step for Closing the Gap, providing the partnership with a shared foundation for cooperation and setting the direction for the project’s upcoming activities.
