The partnership first assessed WEEE management systems, policies, market conditions and stakeholder needs in the participating territories. Based on this evidence, the partners developed the Strategy for Transnational WEEEP-CE Management, which provided a common framework for more coordinated and circular approaches to electronic waste management. The Strategy was subsequently translated into a Transnational Action Plan encompassing six regional and local Action Plans, developed through cooperation between public authorities, technical experts and relevant stakeholders.
The project then moved from planning to practical testing through five pilot actions: WEEE Design, WEEE Collect/Market, WEEE Social, WEEE Lives and WEEE Aware. These pilots tested different approaches to eco-design and repairability, collection and exchange of WEEE and secondary materials, reuse and second-life solutions, social-economy involvement and environmental education. Their implementation provided practical experience on what worked, what barriers remained and how the tested approaches could be adapted or replicated in other territories.
The knowledge gathered during the pilots was consolidated into final solutions, recommendations and tools supporting more circular electronics management. Among the project results were guidance on open product data and information for repair, reuse and recycling, digital tools and resources, and practical models for awareness raising, collection, reuse and stakeholder cooperation.
The partnership also addressed the durability of these results beyond the funded project period. Project partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding for continued cooperation, confirming their commitment to maintain the exchange of knowledge and experience after Circular WEEEP ended.
The project’s final meeting, held in Split on 11–12 February 2026, provided an opportunity to review these achievements, present the results of the pilot actions and discuss their sustainability and potential for replication. With the completion of Circular WEEEP, the partnership left behind tested approaches, practical tools and a stronger transnational network for advancing the circular management of electrical and electronic equipment in Central Europe.
