From 14–17 February 2025, BIOFACH brought together stakeholders from the organic food and agriculture sectors in Nuremberg, Germany. Carbon Farming CE contributed to the programme with a dedicated session, “Carbon Farming in central Europe – Techniques, Business, Strategy”, on 14 February.
Experts from three project partner organisations presented key results and experiences from Carbon Farming CE:
- Dr. Bettina Faehnrich (ÖBG) presented carbon farming techniques tested in Germany and shared results from the project’s field trials.
- Dr. Jerzy Kozyra (IUNG) presented carbon farming business models, cooperation approaches and practical experiences from Poland.
- Dr. Aleš Kolmanič (KIS) presented the project’s strategic approach to supporting the wider uptake of carbon farming in central Europe.
The session brought together researchers, policymakers and representatives of the business sector, providing an opportunity to discuss the practical implementation of carbon farming, carbon sequestration and the conditions needed for its wider uptake.
