After the event / Key takeaways
The Policy Conference took place in St. Pölten and served as one of the final milestones of the DigiCare4CE project. It brought together policymakers, long-term care providers, NGOs, researchers and regional health authorities from ten countries to present project results and discuss the future of digitalisation in long-term care. Key messages from the conference included that digitalisation is no longer optional due to demographic change and staff shortages, but long-term care facilities need guidance, funding, peer learning and training to implement digital solutions successfully. Participants also highlighted the importance of political support, sustainable financing frameworks, data governance and keeping the human element at the centre of digital transformation.
