The PoLaRecCE project was presented to high school students from Bologna and other cities of the Emilia Romagna region at the 21st Annual Conference, “The Language of Research”, organized by the National Research Council (CNR) on 21 November in Bologna (Italy).  A total of 400 persons, including students and teachers, participated in the workshops and hands-on activities, which included games and experiments.

In this context, the PoLaRecCE project furnished students with a laboratory, designated “Soil on Demand,” and a survey on soil, its functions, its threats and how PoLaRecCE project can manage polluted soil for recovery non-food production. The objective of the activity was to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of soil science, including its buffering properties and its reactivity toward pollutants.
