Location: Klagenfurt, Austria
Date: 19.05.2026 - 20.05.2026

The two-day event, organized by Institute of Silviculture, BOKU University, will bring together specialists working on wildfire prevention, risk mapping, fire behaviour modelling, and climate resilience within the framework of the WildfireCE initiative. Participants will review progress achieved during the current project phase and coordinate future activities aimed at strengthening wildfire preparedness and management across pilot regions.

The meeting agenda includes discussions on key deliverables related to fuel type mapping, fire behaviour modelling, fuel moisture validation, and the mapping of wildfire risk areas. In addition, partners will address strategic planning activities, pilot site testing events, and the development of action plans and cooperation protocols with transfer partners.

A practical highlight of the programme will be the demonstration of fire simulation tables, offering participants an opportunity to explore innovative tools and methodologies supporting wildfire risk assessment and emergency response planning.

The second day of the meeting will focus on communication activities, upcoming training and validation events, and open coordination issues, followed by a field trip in the Klagenfurt region to provide practical insights into local wildfire management and landscape conditions.

The meeting will also encourage networking and international cooperation through joint dinners and informal exchanges among project partners and stakeholders.

The WildfireCE Partner Meeting reflects the project’s ongoing commitment to improving cross-border collaboration, advancing wildfire resilience, and supporting sustainable environmental management in Central Europe.
