The HERCULES-CE project is approaching its final event, bringing together policymakers, energy experts, and regional partners to showcase the achievements, tools, and strategies developed to foster Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) across Central Europe.

Event Highlights & Key Sessions

Opening & Project Achievements
The event will open with welcome addresses from G. Claudia R. Romano, Head of the Department for Energy and Green Transition of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Participants will also gain insights into the Interreg Central Europe Programme from Mirjana Dominovic, followed by an overview of the project’s main achievements presented by Letizia Zavatti.

Tools & Pilot Actions
Attendees will be introduced to practical solutions developed within the project, including the REC Manager Tool, presented by Ilaria Ferraro (ECIPA). The session will also showcase the results of the project’s pilot actions, focusing on energy performance, environmental impact, energy poverty mitigation, and the establishment of new Renewable Energy Communities.

Community Engagement
Filippo Parolini from the Department of Design at Politecnico di Milano will present strategies for strengthening public participation and fostering local engagement in Renewable Energy Communities.

From Project to Practice
A dedicated session will highlight real-world Renewable Energy Communities established through the HERCULES-CE partnership. Partners from Italy, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Poland, Croatia, and the Czech Republic will share firsthand experiences and lessons learned from implementing REC initiatives in their regions.

EU Synergies & Policy Roundtable
The afternoon programme will focus on leveraging cross-project experiences through presentations of related EU initiatives, including Leeway, ENCOM HUB, and Piac(ER)2. A high-level Policy Roundtable will explore strategies for transferring, replicating, and scaling up project outcomes beyond the lifespan of HERCULES-CE.

Regional Implementation
The event will conclude with practical insights into the mapping of Renewable Energy Communities in the Emilia-Romagna Region presented by ARTER, the role of municipalities illustrated by ANCI Emilia-Romagna, and digital services supporting the management of RECs showcased by Energy Intelligence Srl.
