In early 2025, the Ready4Heat project, together with the Green Circle and the City of Hajdúböszörmény, helped local professionals prepare for the growing risks of heatwaves. The training sessions focused on people working with vulnerable groups, including older people, chronically ill residents, young children, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and outdoor workers.
Across eight events held between 20 February and 10 March 2025, 36 participants learned how heat affected health, how to recognise warning signs early, and what could be done to prevent and respond to heat-related health problems. The sessions took place at local institutions including a vocational school, a retirement home, a kindergarten, and the Green Circle office.
The trainings strengthened local knowledge and supported timely prevention, giving professionals practical tools to better protect the people they worked with during hot weather.
