The workshop followed the Info Day and first participatory meeting held on 8 September. While the first meeting focused on sharing views, expectations and challenges, the second workshop moved further towards concrete proposals and measures for improving tourism management in Štanjel.
Participants included local residents, tourist guides, service providers, representatives of the Regional Development Agency of Karst and Brkini and the Municipality of Komen. Working in groups, they identified what could be improved, changed or further developed in the local tourism system.
The group work resulted in a range of concrete suggestions that will feed into the next stages of the ENRICH-US project and provide an important basis for the preparation of pilot actions planned for the following phase.
The value of the participatory process lies not only in the ideas collected, but also in the cooperation itself. When local residents and stakeholders can share their perspectives, experiences and needs, solutions can emerge that better reflect the characteristics and needs of the area.
Through ENRICH-US, local knowledge and experience are being transformed into concrete steps towards more sustainable, responsible and inclusive tourism development in the Karst and Brkini region.
