Workshops in Hungary!

Date: 16.10.2026

Over the summer, two national workshops were held in Hungary as part of the foodCIRCUS project, bringing together more than 200 participants for practical training on food waste prevention and sustainable school catering.

The workshops were organised by InDeRe, whose experts also delivered the main presentations. InDeRe has been an important partner in the project, contributing to school food waste measurements, with its experts also affiliated with our university.

The training covered a range of topics essential to improving everyday practices in school kitchens, including:

✔️ Good Hygiene Practices (GHP)

✔️ Food waste prevention and reduction

✔️ Effective interactions with children

✔️ Food redistribution and related solutions

The workshops were delivered in two rounds, each lasting two days, ensuring that kitchen staff could benefit from the training and exchange knowledge and experiences.

These activities represent another important step towards more sustainable school canteens, reduced food waste, and a more circular approach to food management across Central Europe.
