The meeting built on the first workshop held in Mesola, where participants assessed three governance models for the inland areas of the Po Delta: Destination Management Organisation, Community Cooperative and Public–Private–Community Partnership.
During the Goro workshop, participants reviewed the results of the questionnaire and discussed which model could be most effective for addressing local challenges. The discussion then moved towards strategic objectives, a long-term vision and the key elements needed to launch the experimentation process.
The workshop helped strengthen a shared perspective for sustainable tourism development in the Po Delta. It also supported the transition from analysing possible governance models towards defining concrete priorities and practical steps for the pilot process.
The ENRICH-US participatory process in the Italian pilot area will continue with further meetings in Riva del Po and Codigoro. These upcoming workshops will focus on moving from tourism governance to action, testing the selected model through a shared tool and validating the process and results.
