DREAM_PACE has been selected as one of the 25 finalists of the REGIOSTARS Awards 2026, from a record 274 applications submitted by EU-funded projects.
The project is competing in the category “A Connected Europe”, which recognises initiatives that enhance mobility and connectivity between European regions.
Over three years, DREAM_PACE partners from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary and Italy worked together to make public transport more flexible, connected and responsive to people’s needs.
Across six territories, the project explored different ways of integrating Demand-Responsive Transport into regional mobility networks. In Bologna, Pavia and Budapest, activities focused on connecting DRT with existing public transport. In East Tyrol and Baden-Württemberg, partners worked on improving coordination between flexible services. In Split-Dalmatia, the project supported the introduction of the first DRT service of its kind in the region.
These different experiences contributed to shared approaches and practical learning that can help other European regions develop more accessible, inclusive and resilient transport systems.

DREAM_PACE will present its achievements to the REGIOSTARS jury and a live audience during the final evaluation round in Brussels on 13 October, as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities. The category winners and the People’s Choice Award winner will be announced on 14 October.
