Developed within the framework of the project’s pilot activities, the Methodology Kit provides a step-by-step guide to help companies design, develop and refine circular products while maintaining economic viability. It translates the experience gained from working directly with enterprises across Central Europe into a structured and accessible toolkit tailored to the needs of businesses.
A practical toolkit for SMEs
At its core, the Methodology Kit is conceived as a hands-on instrument for companies. It supports SMEs in:
- Understanding the principles of circular design and sustainable product development
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and new business models
- Integrating circularity into existing processes and products
- Balancing environmental impact with economic performance
The toolkit combines methodologies, practical exercises and guidance developed and tested during the project, making it directly applicable to real business contexts.
From pilot experience to replicable approach
The Methodology Kit builds on the results of CURIOST’s pilot action phase, where SMEs collaborated with experts to co-develop circular solutions in four key sectors: mechanics and mechatronics, plastics, packaging, and construction.
By systematising this experience, the document provides a replicable approach that can be adopted by companies beyond the project, supporting wider uptake of circular practices across Central Europe.
Supporting the transition to Circular Economy
With this publication, CURIOST offers SMEs a concrete and user-oriented resource to navigate the transition toward more sustainable and circular business models. The Methodology Kit complements other project outputs, such as the CURIOST Action Plan, by focusing on the operational level of implementation within companies.
By equipping businesses with practical tools and guidance, CURIOST continues to foster innovation, competitiveness and sustainability, helping SMEs play an active role in shaping a more circular economy.
