The ENRICH-US partnership has completed a series of four online technical sessions under Activity 1.2: Transnational knowledge sharing on Eco-Cultural Tourism Management Models and Case Studies.

The sessions supported knowledge transfer among partners and invited experts, creating a common basis for the upcoming pilot work in the project territories. They focused on governance approaches that can help rural and inland communities coordinate tourism development in a more sustainable, participatory and locally beneficial way.

The four sessions covered the following topics:

Session 1 focused on capitalisation in eco-cultural tourism, linking existing knowledge and experience to the needs of ENRICH-US pilot territories.

Session 2 introduced the Destination Management Organisation model and discussed how destination-level coordination can bring together municipalities, tourism businesses, cultural actors and local communities.

Session 3 presented the Community Cooperative and Public–Private–Community Partnership models as approaches that can strengthen local ownership, cross-sector cooperation and community participation.

Session 4 provided an expert dialogue on eco-cultural tourism governance, comparing real cases and governance models such as CC, DMO and PPCP. The session also included valuable contributions from invited experts and the experience of the ORA partner.

These technical sessions are an important milestone for ENRICH-US. They strengthen the partnership’s shared understanding of governance options and help prepare the next steps: stakeholder mapping, governance diagnosis and pilot implementation.

The knowledge gained will be translated into practical actions in the pilot territories, where partners will test and refine governance models and tools such as digital mapping, cultural content systems and eco-tourism infrastructure.
