Students were introduced to the project through an engaging presentation, which covered the impacts of food waste, various options for its processing, and the research process involved in its reuse. It is great that the hydroponic cultivation project is being presented directly to students and that they are genuinely interested in the topic.
During the presentation, students actively responded and subsequently engaged in a lively discussion. It was clear that the younger generation is truly interested in the issue of food waste and that this topic is close to their hearts.
The meeting also included a practical part, in which students set up their own experiment in a special hydroponic system! Over the course of two weeks, they monitored and recorded the growth of garden cress using torrefied pellets made from separated waste and observed their nutritional properties.
We hope those bright students will join our fight with the food waste and become the change we aim to inspire!
