Reducing mobility poverty in CE peripheral areas
In many peripheral areas, elderly, disabled and low-income residents face poor public transport with fixed routes that do not fit their needs. FlexiSHARE aims to offer flexible, affordable alternatives to such mobility poverty. Using the shared Flexiride model, partners from four countries co-design demand-responsive transport with residents, adjust routes and timetables based on data and test pilots in different contexts. Joint guidelines and business cases support long-term, scalable rural mobility services.

Roadmap
Understanding mobility challenges
Partners identify common transport challenges affecting rural and peripheral communities in Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland. The project focuses on improving mobility for older people, persons with disabilities, children and other vulnerable groups.
Launching the partnership
The FlexiSHARE project officially starts with the Kick-off Meeting in Selnica ob Dravi. Partners establish cooperation, agree on project management and communication activities, and define the first implementation steps.
Engaging stakeholders
Partners work with municipalities, transport providers, schools, community organisations and residents to better understand local mobility needs and gather input for the FlexiRide pilots.
Learning from good practices
Partners exchange experiences during project meetings and study visits, including learning from the KOMBUS-flexi service and other examples of demand-responsive transport.
Preparing Pilot Implementation
Partners prepare the operational framework for the FlexiRide pilots, including booking procedures, service organisation and monitoring methods.
Testing Innovative Mobility Services
FlexiRide pilot services improve accessibility and provide more flexible transport options for rural communities in Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland.
Building Long-Term Impact
The project evaluates pilot services, shares lessons learned and develops practical recommendations to help other rural and peripheral regions introduce flexible, demand-responsive transport solutions.
