The Closing Event of the Re-Use Centre pilot activity took place on 24 October 2025 in Košice, organised by Creative Industry Košice (CIKE). The event brought together city representatives, CIKE, local partners and key stakeholders to review the pilot journey, share experiences from the centre’s operation and discuss future opportunities for continuing and further developing the initiative.
Participants were introduced to the results reached since the pilot’s launch, including insights into day-to-day operation, community engagement and both environmental and social impact. Representatives of the City of Košice highlighted the value of the centre as a practical tool for reducing waste and supporting social solutions.
The Košice Re-Use Centre went beyond promoting reuse and circularity: throughout its pilot operation it also functioned as a social service. All collected items were redistributed directly to people and families in need, giving them a true second life and helping address social needs in the community.
A special contribution at the closing event came from an IBM representative, who presented a digital tool currently being developed to support the centre. The event concluded with a joint discussion on future opportunities and the next steps needed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Re-Use Centre.
