The submissions for the Young Food Waste Fighters – AWARD are almost open, so here are the frequently asked questions:
· When will the submissions be open?
Submissions open: October 1 and last till November 30, 2025
· Who can join?
Schools and kindergartens in Austria, Poland, Italy, Hungary, and Czech Republic.
· What to submit?
Already finished or ongoing projects (up to 3 years old) that reduce food waste or raise awareness about food appreciation. Some examples include:
• Educational lessons or games
• School gardens and cooking
• Food sharing stations
• Campaigns, songs, posters, leftovers days
· What’s at stake?
• Cash and/or merchandise prizes for the winning school/kindergarten
• Official Food Waste Hero certificate
• Media spotlight and a national award event!
· How to vote?
Public voting will take place between December 8th and 14th, 2025
Top 10 entries will be evaluated by an international jury!
