Pilot action success story: A smart village hub for South Warmia

Date: 08.09.2025

In the heart of South Warmia, the MTAV pilot “Designing and Testing a New Smart Village Hub in Marcinkowo” has opened a new chapter for rural development. By creating a dedicated space for consultation, learning, and collaboration, the pilot has empowered local residents, SMEs, and NGOs to explore new opportunities and strengthen community ties.

A Hub for Innovation and Support

The Smart Village Hub in Marcinkowo, Purda commune, was successfully launched as a central point for rural innovation. The hub provides consultancy services tailored to local society, including SMEs and NGOs, helping them identify opportunities, build skills, and access new resources.

Through workshops and meetings, the hub engaged over 70 residents, including young people, local business owners, and NGOs. A total of 12 SMEs and 12 NGOs participated directly in testing the Smart Village Hub’s services and offerings, ensuring that the hub meets the real needs of the community.

Engaging the Community

Between April and September 2025, the pilot conducted:

  • 4 interactive workshops involving residents, SMEs, NGOs, and youth.

  • 5 consultancy meetings with target groups, testing the hub’s services and building relationships with local stakeholders.

These activities strengthened the local network, fostered collaboration, and provided hands-on experience for participants, demonstrating the potential of Smart Village Hubs as catalysts for rural development.

The pilot brought together a diverse set of stakeholders:
