On April 24, 2025, the South Poland Cleantech Cluster (SPC) hosted a conference on thermal modernisation and building renovation at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow. The event focused on the implementation of EU directives and their role in achieving the net-zero emission goal by 2050, bringing together building owners, housing cooperative managers, city representatives, service providers, banks, and local municipalities from the Małopolska region.

During the conference, Janusz Kahl, CEO of SPC, presented the CURIOST INTERREG CENTRAL EUROPE project. He explained how CURIOST supports small and medium-sized regional companies in adopting sustainable product development and transitioning to circular economy practices, particularly in strategic sectors such as construction.

Janusz Kahl also highlighted the legislative background and EU building directives (EPBD) that are shaping Poland’s energy transformation, providing attendees with practical insights for navigating new regulations. The conference included a dedicated session on CURIOST, where the audience learned how the project will foster circular transformation and create opportunities for collaboration between regional companies, local municipalities, and the consortium partners.
