The workshop offers a practical introduction to the circular economy, a model that moves beyond the traditional “take–use–dispose” approach, emphasizing reuse, repair, recycling, and intelligent product design. Participants will learn how to keep materials in the economic cycle longer, secure resources, and create sustainable business opportunities.
The day will include:
-
An introduction to CURIOST by Prof. Dr. Oliver Mayer (Bayern Innovativ), highlighting the project’s role in helping companies transition to circular business models.
-
The 10R Strategy by Christina Zegowitz (Environmental Cluster Bavaria), a framework covering everything from refusal and reduction to reuse, repair, and recovery.
-
Design Thinking methods lead by Florian Sußner (Bayern Innovativ), giving participants a creative, user-centered approach to developing circular products and services.
-
Practical group work, where attendees will develop initial ideas and rough prototypes for circular solutions.
-
Networking and exchange, providing space to share experiences and gain inspiration for implementing circular strategies within their own companies.
The workshop will conclude with a look at the next steps in CURIOST, including the use of the Circular Business Model Canvas to continue developing sustainable, innovative business concepts.
By combining theory, hands-on exercises, and collaborative learning, the workshop will offer participants ready-to-use tools and insights to start their circular transformation journey—turning sustainability from a concept into a tangible business advantage.
