On May 5, 2025, the CURIOST project hosted an online presentation dedicated to the role of wood-concrete composite structures in sustainable construction. The session brought together representatives of construction companies from Southern Transdanubia and CURIOST consortium members to learn more about how this innovative material can support greener building practices.

The webinar, led by Tamás Juhász, lecturer at the University of Pécs and licensed structural engineer, explored both the architectural applications and the structural mechanisms of wood-concrete composites. With a special focus on the rehabilitation of historic wooden floors, the presentation highlighted how this technology—used successfully since the 1930s—offers a practical, long-lasting, and sustainable solution for the preservation of architectural heritage.

Beyond technical insights, the event was part of the CURIOST sustainability awareness campaign, which promotes circular economy approaches and supports SMEs in sectors such as mechanics, mechatronics, packaging, plastics, and construction. By sharing knowledge and best practices, CURIOST continues to encourage the adoption of sustainable products and circular business models across the region.
