The GINEVRA project is proud to introduce the AV Readiness Assessment Tool, developed by knowledge partner EMFIE, to support cities in evaluating and enhancing their preparedness for autonomous vehicles (AVs). Designed specifically for small and medium-sized cities in Central Europe, this innovative tool provides a comprehensive, data-driven framework to assess local conditions and guide the development of AV-compatible infrastructure and policies. Key features include a composite index for benchmarking, a collaborative methodology that incorporates stakeholder and citizen input, and an AV Readiness Score that identifies areas of strength and improvement. Based on the results, cities receive tailored recommendations and are classified into one of four readiness levels: AV Pioneer, AV Friendly, AV Developing, and Limited AV Readiness. The tool also includes a dynamic online calculator powered by a multi-variant statistical model to generate scores and action plans. While the current version is still under development, a final release is forthcoming and will offer cities a valuable resource to advance future-ready urban mobility systems.
