On 27 March 2024, the Municipality of Maribor held a roundtable at the Urban Exhibition Center to present its plans for planting and arranging trees across the city. The event brought residents, experts, and city representatives together to discuss how trees could help Maribor respond to urban heat, improve air quality, reduce noise, and support biodiversity.
The discussion highlighted the many roles trees played in city life: they cooled streets, provided habitat for animals, and made public spaces more attractive and liveable. Participants had the chance to ask questions, share views, and suggest ideas for future planting efforts.
