The Slovenian Carbon Farming CE team was invited by the Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture to contribute its expertise and project experience to discussions related to the development and implementation of the EU framework for carbon farming certification.
The Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation (EU) 2024/3012 established a voluntary EU-wide certification framework for permanent carbon removals, carbon farming and carbon storage in products. The framework sets quality criteria and provides for the development of detailed certification methodologies for different types of activities.
Carbon Farming CE contributed relevant practical experience through its work on testing carbon farming techniques, developing business models and establishing approaches for monitoring carbon sequestration under different agricultural and regional conditions.
The involvement of the Slovenian project team provided an opportunity to bring practical knowledge and lessons from Carbon Farming CE into discussions on the implementation of the European carbon farming framework.
