Project overview

Integrated governance solutions for inclusive and sustainable tourism in rural transborder areas

Long-distance cycle routes through central Europe’s rural border regions often offer uneven services and remain difficult to use for older travellers and persons with disabilities. CE-SustaInTour adapts tools from earlier Interreg projects to help authorities, tourism organisations and local businesses manage these routes together. Expert teams will prepare action plans for three major trails and test a shared system that shows where accessibility, environmental performance and visitor services need improvement. This will help regions create more inclusive tourism offers while protecting the natural and cultural heritage along the routes.
