CARBON 4 BIOECONOMY

Project overview

Using Low-Carbon Agricultural Practices for the Development of Bioeconomy Products

Farmers can help store carbon in soil, while bio-based businesses can turn crops into products that keep this carbon in use. Yet these two worlds rarely connect, and different rules, markets and supply chains make cooperation across borders difficult. CARBON 4 BIOECONOMY adapts results from earlier Interreg projects to test carbon-friendly farming methods and show how the resulting crops can feed new bio-based products. Joint recommendations and an action plan will help farmers, SMEs and ministries remove barriers and reflect the approach in future agricultural policy.
