As part of the ongoing awareness campaign under the WEEE Lives Pilot Action, approximately 110 students participated in an enriching study visit to a WEEE collection and recycling center and in practical workshops in the REUSE center in Rogaška Slatina and Slovenske Konjice
The visit served as a practical extension of the project’s core mission: to foster hands-on environmental education and promote responsible e-waste management among youth.
After the visit, some pupils engaged in educational workshops centered around:
· Repair techniques for common electronics
· Reuse strategies to extend product lifecycles
· Practical demonstrations hosted in the REUSE center.
These activities aimed to empower students with tangible skills while highlighting the value of circular economy principles.
In Slovenske Konjice, the timing of the visit closely aligned with International Earth Day (April 22), serving as a special occasion to reinforce the importance of sustainability and environmental stewardship. The alignment underscored the project’s broader goal of embedding green values in the educational experience.
This milestone in the campaign not only raised awareness but also built excitement and commitment among young participants to become active agents of change in the fight against e-waste.
