A new phase for long-term cross-border mobility
TRANS-BORDERS+ has entered a new and important phase with the preparation of the Regional Action Plans for both project areas.
These plans are a key step in translating the project results into practical follow-up actions for cross-border public transport beyond the lifetime of the project. They build on the work carried out so far in the fields of digital traveller information, smart bus stops and mobility points, as well as innovative public transport services in border regions.
The preparation of the Regional Action Plans will help connect the project’s achievements with the next implementation steps in the participating regions. In this way, the project is moving from analysis, testing and development towards a stronger focus on uptake, continuation and long-term impact.
Looking ahead in the DE/CZ project area
In the DE/CZ project area, the Regional Action Plan will focus on how the project results can support the further development of cross-border public transport and digital traveller information in the Saxony–Liberec border area and beyond.
Particular attention will be given to identifying realistic follow-up measures, relevant institutional actors and possible pathways for embedding the project results in broader regional and cross-border processes. The aim is to ensure that the work developed within TRANS-BORDERS+ can contribute to future cooperation and to the continued improvement of cross-border mobility in this project area.
Shaping the next steps in the AT/SI/IT project area
In the AT/SI/IT project area, the Regional Action Plan will address the specific challenges and opportunities of cross-border mobility in the tri-border area.
It will build on the experience gained throughout the project and define future actions that can help strengthen cross-border public transport connections, improve stop infrastructure and support better coordination between the actors involved. In doing so, the plan will help identify practical and regionally relevant steps for the further development of public transport cooperation in this complex cross-border setting.
From project results to future implementation
The preparation of the Regional Action Plans marks an important bridge between the work already carried out in the project and the next steps that should follow in the regions involved.
The objective is not only to reflect on what has been achieved so far, but also to define concrete and realistic pathways for further uptake and implementation. By doing so, TRANS-BORDERS+ seeks to ensure that its results remain relevant beyond the project duration and can continue to support better public transport connections in border regions.
Developing the plans together with relevant actors
In the coming weeks, the project partners will continue working on both Regional Action Plans in close exchange with relevant stakeholders. This process will help ensure that the plans are practical, implementation-oriented and closely linked to regional needs and experiences.
By entering this new phase, TRANS-BORDERS+ is further strengthening its contribution to more connected, accessible and future-oriented cross-border mobility in Central Europe
