By: SuPeRBE
The first SuPeRBE Training Workshop in Germany, titled “Adaptation of Buildings and Cities to Climate Change,” was successfully held online by the Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS), led by Sara Lindner.

The 4-hour training introduced key concepts from the SuPeRBE Training Framework, focusing on two core modules:

  •     Climate Change and the Built Environment
  •     RBE Assessment System

The workshop aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to understand the relationship between climate change and the built environment, and to apply the SuPeRBE methodologies and tools for climate risk assessment at both urban and building scales.

A total of 28 participants took part in the session, including students from MUAS (75%), professionals, technical coordinators, and decision-makers from Germany and Austria. Representatives from several institutions such as NFG Group, the City of Dornbirn, an energy consultancy company, and Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW also joined the event.

Interactive discussions focused on the implementation of climate adaptation strategies and the use of the RBE assessment system for assessing risks and supporting decision-making processes. Following the online session, MUAS students will participate in an on-site RBE Assessment Exercise in Schnifis to further test the SuPeRBE method.

The next training activity, Workshop 2, is scheduled for 26 November 2025. Stay tuned for more information about that.
