The 2-hour workshop, conducted in German, was based on Climate Change and the Built Environment Module of the SuPeRBE Training Framework. Participants explored topics such as recognizing climate risks in the built environment, understanding climate adaptation strategies, and evaluating both structural and non-structural adaptation solutions.
A PowerPoint presentation titled “Climate Change Adaptation Plan – Challenges and Risks, Tools and Methods” supported the lecture delivered by Markus Berchtold.
The event brought together municipal council members and private company employees. Discussions centered on the local Climate Change Adaptation Survey, identifying next steps for assessing the impact and cost estimates of proposed adaptation measures in the community.
The next SuPeRBE workshop in Schnifis is scheduled for 17 November 2025, and will focus on future climate projections for Schnifis—covering temperature, hot days, and precipitation trends up to 2100—and their expected effects on construction and agriculture.
