Date: 25.09.2025

As part of PROCAREFUL project, the Municipality of Silea recently welcomed a delegation of Slovenian mayors for an inspiring exchange of experiences and best practices in promoting healthy aging among senior citizens.

The visit focused on showcasing Silea’s commitment to preventive health and well-being for citizens aged 55 and over. The Slovenian delegation had the opportunity to learn about the pilot site implemented in Silea, which was developed in close collaboration with local stakeholders to address the growing needs of an aging population.

Together with the Slovenian mayor from Log-Dragomer municipality that successfully implemented the PROCAREFUL project, Silea’s representatives presented the services offered, the needs identified, and the results achieved. The pilot site was designed to respond to key challenges such as health prevention, active aging, and community engagement for older adults. The outcomes highlighted improvements in health awareness and stronger social connections among senior citizens.

The meeting also fostered a constructive dialogue on the shared challenges faced by municipalities across borders. Participants discussed the common demographic trends, such as the rising number of elderly residents, and the local differences in service provision, infrastructure, and community dynamics. This exchange underscored the importance of transnational cooperation in developing adaptable and inclusive solutions for healthy aging.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to collaboration and knowledge-sharing, reinforcing the role of the PROCAREFUL project as a catalyst for innovation and solidarity in Central Europe.
