Empowering Local Agriculture Through Digital Transformation
The MTAV pilot “Development of a Digital Agri-Web Platform” in the City of Buzet, Croatia, has successfully strengthened the digital capabilities of local agricultural producers, supporting the transition toward smarter and more sustainable farming.
At the core of the pilot lies the newly created virtual web platform agro.buzet.hr — a digital space designed for local family farms, small producers, and hobby gardeners. The platform enables them to promote their products, connect with customers, and access up-to-date knowledge on modern agricultural practices and technologies. By improving access to information and visibility, it contributes to regional resilience and fosters a stronger, more connected agri-community.
Smart Tools for Smarter Farming
To complement the digital platform, the pilot also installed four agrometeorological stations across the region. These provide valuable real-time data for farmers, helping them make informed decisions about crop management, irrigation, and climate adaptation — key elements in the digital transformation of rural areas.
Through these actions:
- 30+ producers and SMEs actively participated in the pilot,
- 200+ citizens engaged with the new digital services,
- 1 web platform was successfully developed and launched,
- 4 agrometeorological stations were installed and put into use.
