Our Partner News series takes us across Central Europe to discover how each organisation contributes its own expertise to our shared goals. From activities in the pilot areas to transnational methodological and strategic work, each partner plays a different role in turning the BLUETWIN-CE approach into practice.
ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º Our next stop is Hungary, where we introduce EMFIE and its contribution to BLUETWIN-CE, focusing on governance and project communication.
EMFIE’s contribution to BLUETWIN-CE
How can communities bring health, social care, local planning and residents’ ideas together to support healthier lives? This question guided EMFIE’s work in the BLUETWIN-CE project.
EMFIE prepared the Governance Structure Assessment Report (D.1.2.1) for the three pilot areas: Beltinci in Slovenia, SvidnÃk in Slovakia and Montegrotto Terme in Italy. Using information provided by the pilots, EMFIE examined local institutions, policies, stakeholders, services and baseline conditions. The assessment found that each area has valuable community assets and relevant organisations, but cooperation between them is often informal or limited to individual projects.
Building on these findings, EMFIE developed the Validated Transnational Blue Zone Governance Strategy (D.1.2.2). Partners discussed and refined it through two online transnational workshops and consultations. The strategy proposes a Local Blue Zone Governance Group in each pilot area to coordinate action across sectors, involve residents and use Digital Twin insights to support planning and monitor progress.
EMFIE also led the project’s communication activities and developed the communication plan. The plan provides a shared framework for communicating the project’s aims, activities and results, helping partners present BLUETWIN-CE consistently and reach relevant stakeholders and wider audiences.
Through its governance and communication work, EMFIE helps the pilot areas turn Blue Zone principles into coordinated local action and share what they learn with other Central European communities.
