Nine partners, six regions, and a hundred different assumptions about forests.

In the end, we all share the same goal: healthy forests that contribute to human well-being in the region. Yet the path to achieving this goal sparked long discussions — often fruitful, sometimes confusing or conflicting. Differences emerged not only in approaches to forest management but also in the very language we use to describe the same concepts.

Within the consortium, diverse perspectives meet: from forest services, scientific ecology, and sensory, experience-based views. This is why we used the face-to-face meeting in Austria to make these underlying assumptions about forests, forest management, and forest health explicit.
