HyEfRe showcased its tools and ideas for future hydrogen projects at the “Hydrogen 2026: Connecting companies for the development and submission of hydrogen projects” event, held on 19 February 2026 at KENT – Termoelektrarna Šoštanj (TEŠ) in the Šaleška region within a Greet CE project. TEŠ, as the central energy hub of the Šaleška valley and a key actor in Šaleška region’s just transition, is a natural focal point for future green hydrogen production and use, which made it an ideal location for this type of event.
The event brought together many high-ranking stakeholders from energy utilities and industrial companies, technology providers and engineering firms, research and innovation organisations, and regional development and transition institutions, ensuring coverage of the entire hydrogen value chain. The programme combined strategic inputs on hydrogen technology developments, cohesion policy and Just Transition opportunities in the SAŠA region with discussions on the environmental and economic aspects of hydrogen production and co‑combustion. It then focused on project ideas and business models in areas such as hydrogen storage and safety, hydrogen fuel cell vehicle fleets, and critical components for hydrogen technologies.
By presenting its planning tools, business‑model approaches and pilot concepts, HyEfRe helped turn regional hydrogen ambitions into concrete project designs, fitting neatly into the vision of the Šaleška hydrogen valley and strengthening emerging consortia that can support the green transition in the Šaleška region and beyond.
