Growing demand: The rapidly aging population is increasing the demand for professional in-home care.
Staff shortages and isolation: There is a shortage of qualified caregivers, and the problem of isolation among seniors is constantly growing.
An opportunity for young people: Social entrepreneurship offers an excellent career path for young people, combining economic profit with a social mission.
The need for cooperation: Close coordination is essential among local governments, medical institutions, and nongovernmental organizations.
Vision for Development: Regional Ecosystem for Supporting Social Enterprises
Based on the workshop discussions, a concept was developed to create a Regional Ecosystem and Incubator for Social Entrepreneurship. The incubator will offer young people training support, mentoring, networking, and the opportunity to implement pilot care services.
Strategic Priorities of the Initiative:
1. Creating new social enterprises that provide home care.
2. Supporting youth entrepreneurship through dedicated training and advisory programs.
3. Increasing the availability of care services, including the introduction of mobile care teams and digital platforms connecting caregivers with seniors.
4. Strengthening cross-sectoral cooperation (public, private, and nonprofit sectors).
5. Promoting active aging and intergenerational integration.
The results of the workshops will be used directly to develop the Local Strategy (Action 1.4) and to implement future pilot activities as part of the COOPACTION project.
