Harvesting Regional Growth: Agri-Digital Growth to discuss innovation and regional smart specialisation at EIMA 2026

Date: 04.11.2026

Agri-Digital Growth will hold its Final Conference and Transnational Round Table on 12 November 2026, from 10:30 to 12:30, at EIMA International in Bologna, Italy.

Entitled Harvesting Regional Growth: Bridging Agrifood Innovation and Regional Smart Specialisation, the event will examine how the results developed through the project can contribute to regional innovation strategies, digital skills development and cooperation in the agricultural machinery and precision farming sectors.

With the project approaching its conclusion in November 2026, the conference will provide an opportunity to discuss the practical application of its results and identify opportunities for continued collaboration among research institutions, businesses, education providers and public authorities.

Regional cooperation and the future of innovation

The opening session will be followed by a discussion on cooperation between the 2021-2027 and 2028-2034 EU programming periods.

The session will bring together institutional representatives and project partners to explore opportunities for transnational cooperation, the uptake of project results and their contribution to regional innovation and smart specialisation strategies.

The discussion will also consider how the experience gained through Agri-Digital Growth can inform future initiatives supporting digital skills development and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Bringing Agri-Digital Growth results into practice

The second part of the conference will focus on the uptake of results developed during the project.

Project partners will present key contributions to digital skills development and regional innovation:

Precision Farming Specialist: the professional profile developed to address emerging skills requirements in agriculture and agricultural machinery manufacturing.

Pilot training courses: five online courses covering Precision Farming Basics, Precision Viticulture, Precision Arable Agriculture, Robotics Applied to Agriculture, and Data Processing and AI.

Regional Action Plans: recommendations developed to support regional smart specialisation strategies and address skills gaps in the precision farming sector.

The discussion will consider how the results can be taken up by educational institutions, businesses and public authorities, and how transnational cooperation can support their continued use beyond the project’s conclusion.

The event will conclude with a discussion of potential synergies, opportunities for the uptake of results and next steps for cooperation.
